SOBE LIFE WATER- 2008 Super Bowl Commercial Digital Domain- Naomi Campbell beautification & compositing

Mark was hired to lead a team of 4 compositors (2 nuke and 2 flame) as well as to provide extensive cleanup of all background plates and beautification of all Naomi Campbell shots.

The close-up shot beautification was especially challenging because it not only required extensive close-up beautification, but also black lines on the bottle's label needed to be removed and the clear plastic Sobe lizard need to be accentuated on the top of the bottle. The results speak for themselves.

Mark's creative input was also required in developing wacky ideas to incorporate into the lizard animations. Additionally Mark was responsible for designing the final end tag "Thrillicious" logo treatment.

Mark became the butt of several jokes when he was chosen to do "Fart Exploration" for a scene where the lizards are walking away from camera. A black diesel exhaust gas fume look, enhanced but a slight fiery burn, was chosen by director Pete Arnell as just the look he was going for. Days later in a closed door meeting with Digital Domain executives, Arnell stated "I like that guy! He's got a good spirit"

This spot was later redesigned and featured in New York's Times Square
