Veteran Rockers Journey and Def Leppard recently teamed up for a six month national tour. Once again veteran director Jonathan Beswick was tapped to direct both bands stage show which shared a stage featuring a 40 X 60 foot LED wall. Def Leppard came to the stage with an impressive hi-def graphic package budgeted well over 6 figures.

Beswick was handed the last minute job of beefing up the Journey show with a fraction of the Def Leppard budget,

Beswick states:

"I’ve worked with Mark on a number of projects and he always comes up with something fresh and new , and most importantly he keeps within the budget I have to work with, and always giving me way more than I bargained for. The Journey graphics was no exception , I gave mark some concept ideas and he ran with it, kicking it up a double notch to give us animation that rivaled the Def Leppard content in just a matter of a few weeks."

Armed with nothing but a few albumn covers, a logo, an internet connection and bit of imagination, Mark created 6- five minute animations for the rock classics “Wheels in the Sky”, ”Lights”, “Edge of the Blade” ,“Dead or Alive”, and "Chain Reaction" as wells as a two minute logo animation to close the show.

When Mark completed the final animation, for “Dead or Alive”, lead guitar player Neal Schon was concerned that it was so good that the fans would not notice his guitar solo.
