When Mark began to researched the band, he was blown away by how much
work they have done and by how long they have continuously toured. Showing
the overwhelming volume of their work became the general concept of this
video.
He began by creating a timeline of album covers, song titles and images
of the band from day one to today. He was lucky enough to find one of
Vivian's guitar solos on the internet and used it as a base to time how
the images would appear. Tour video director Jonathan Beswick explained that in a conversation one day with Joe, the lead
singer of the band, Joe mentioned that even though they we very pro UK,
that they were also very anti-aristocracy. Thus taking the British flag
and rocking it up a bit became the concept for the beginning of the intro.
The band also stated that what they did not want was just an anthology
of the band's work. Because this tour would also promote the release of
the new album "Songs from the Sparkle Lounge" Mark chose
to add a deep voiceover which emphatically stated "That Was Then,
This Is Now" which then transitions into the Sparkle Lounge Cover
