Mark began his career as a print graphic designer in 1983 upon graduation
from
the prestigious Tyler School of Art of Temple University with a
Bachelors
of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design.
Shortly
after graduation Mark opened Mark Devlin Visual
Design, in Beverly Hills, an advertising
agency
specializing in print graphics for the entertainment industries
including
national trade advertisements for film and television,
as
well as packaging and promotional items for the home video
and
the recording industries. But, after 5 years designing
print
graphics, he was intriged by the opportunity to put my designs in motion.
Mark
left the glamour of Hollywood and moved north to the
serenity
of Monterey,California as the new Art Director for
KCBA-
Fox 35.
One
year later he thrusted his career into
warp
speed as Director of Video Production at ZSF Advertising
in
Boynton Beach Florida, Assistant Art Director at WPTV-5
in
West Palm Beach and Weekend Paintbox Artist
at WSVN-7
in
Miami, all at the same time.
In
1991, Mark yearned for the bright lights of Hollywood and returned
to
Los Angeles as a freelance paintbox artist for KABC, KNBC,
KCBS,
KTTV, KCAL and Fox Sports. Within 6 months I had
taught
myself the other 7 Quantel computers; the Picturebox,
Harriet,
Harry, Hal, Domino, Editbox and Henry.
Before
he knew it I was a freelance trainer for Quantel giving
regular
classes throughout Canada, the US and South America.
As
his reputation grew, he was able to create a lucrative career
as
one of Los Angeles' premier freelance Quantel artists,
broadcast
designer and visual effects artist.
In
November of 2000, Mark was invited to become a member
of
the elite Soho Editors of London and
became only the
5th
accredited Quantel Editbox trainer in the world.
In
the Spring of 2001 Mark settled down a bit in Sao
Paulo Brazil
to
work for 7 months with one of South Americas most
successful
post production facility, Casablanca Finish,
were
Mark
increased my arsenal of weapons to include the Discreet
Inferno,
Flame, Smoke, Combustion and After Effects.
Mark returned to Los Angeles for a second time in 2002 .
In 2004 Mark was approached by classic rock legends KISS to design visuals for thier Rock The Nation Tour.
This opportunity transforned the directing of the company, which now specializes in the design and direction of screen visuals for stage, corporate and architectural projects.
Mark
speaks English and Brazilian Portuguese and has basic
knowledge
of French, Italian and Spanish.
