In 2006 Veteran Rockers Journey and Def Leppard teamed up for a six month national tour. Def Leppard came to the stage with an impressive hi-def graphic package budgeted well over 6 figures. At the time Journey was simple playing the windows media player visualizer on the LED monitors behind them. Mark Devlin was approached by veteran video director Jonathan Beswick, who was video directing both bands for the tour, to see what he could do to improve the look of Journey;s stage presentation.

When Def Leppard and Jonathan saw what and Mark put together at only a fraction of the cost, they knew that had to try the new guy out on their next tour.

In 2007 Mark was asked to design video content for a portion of the song " Photograph" "This guy really gets it" commented lead singer Joe Elliott. Weeks later he was asked to create an original piece for the song "Animal" Mark incorporated circus freak show banners with the original music video created in the 80's. The band loved the results.

In the spring of 2008, Def leppard released their new album "Songs from the Sparkle Lounge" Mark was asked to create origin content for the songs "C'mon C'mon", "Nine Lives" and 1 minute show Intro. Fans of the band immediately began posting videos of the open with comments including...

"That intro was so cool- there's no words for it. I never get tired of watching it. It was even cooler live! Great time!"DefLepRadar

"Great F'in intro!!!!"lotustt

It was evident that the combination of Jonathan Beswick's vision and Mark Devlin creativity, was being well accepted by the fans.

Beswick states:

"I’ve worked with Mark on a number of projects and he always comes up with something fresh and new, and most importantly he keeps within the budget I have to work with, and always giving me way more than I bargained for. The Journey graphics was no exception , I gave mark some concept ideas and he ran with it, kicking it up a double notch to give us animation that rivaled the Def Leppard content in just a matter of a few weeks."

In 2009, Beswick and Devlin were given full creative freedom. Jonathan began by adding addition set chart monitors to the front of the set, thus increasing not only the possible video area, but also allowing for different video sources to play in each of the now 5 stage monitors.

Mark was given the green light to come up with original content ideas for 10 new songs including

"Rock Rock Til You Drop"

"Pour Some Sugar On Me"

"Foolin"

"Armegeddon It"

"Bringin On The Heartbreak"

"Make Love Like A Man"

"Too Late"

"Hysteria"

"Love Bites and Rock of Ages."

In addition the band chose to include in the set list all the other song Mark had created content for including "Animal", "Nine Lives" and "C'mon C'mon".

With minutes of the first day of rehearsal, Lead singer Joe Elliot felt that the song Make Love Like A Man was not working with the rest of the set list. It was decided that they wanted to change the opening song to Rock Rock going straight into from the opening intro. Mark was asked if he could think of a way of transition from the intro to Rock Rock. Mark suggested taking the unused video for Make Love like A Man and editing it into a transition. The results were fierce.
